Our calcination services can be tailored to meet your exact needs. We can offer technical backup and advice regarding the firing of all materials. We are able to batch fire smaller amounts in our intermittent kiln, while larger volumes are more suited to our rotary furnace located 5 minutes from J16 of the M6.
It is often very difficult and expensive to have small amounts of material fired, but here at SPP we specialise in the calcining of a wide range of minerals and powders, whatever the volume. Our kiln we use for calcination is capable of reaching temperatures of 1200 c and we can also offer reduction firings; Materials are placed inside saggars before going through a precise firing cycle to ensure a consistent end product, while thorough clean-downs eliminate any risk of contamination to the finished product.
For larger volumes of materials we use our impressive gas fired rotary furnace which is designed for continuous firings. We calcine to a maximum temperature of 950 c, and can vary the amount of time your product undergoes the firing process. This together with tight control over processing parameters ensures consistently high quality products. For more information or for technical advice please contact us.
